Signal boost: Drunk driving leads to catastrophe, help needed

Hello babes.

Those of you reading this on your dashes have been following me for quite a long time now, and I believe you’re pretty aware of how little I like to ask for money unless it’s for a good reason, and even when I do so, I still do it through commissions of some sort.

Well, this time I have to get down from my horse and actually ask for your unconditional help.

On Tuesday, 11th December around 4 p.m., my best friend Breann’s (Killerbells) grandma got hit by a drunk driver while she was driving her own car. The hit was so brutal, it made her car flip and absolutely destroyed it. Grandma didn’t make it out of it any better. Here’s some photographic proof where you can clearly tell the angle both the cars crashed in and the strength of the hit; beware for strong content:

This is a picture of grandma’s state on the day 12th of December, one day after the crash.

Both her grandmother and the drunk driver were taken to a hospital, and while the drunk driver got out of it with his hip broken in two places and is currently about to leave the hospital after a successful surgery, without even having to transfer to the trauma center, Breann’s grandmother had to be quickly transfered to the ICU in Robert Parkard Hospital, in Sayre, three hours away from their hometown Wellsboro, and you can already see the state she’s in at the moment.

She has a knicked spleen that was causing internal bleeding, she’s absolutely banged and her whole body is covered in bruises. All of this could turn fatal in a snap due to her old age, heart problems and the fact she has a pace maker. And the surgery they thought and hoped wouldn’t be necessary is now a necessity, while she just keeps getting worse.

Breann’s family is not sure how much the ambulance is going to cost, given that they couldt not pay for its insurance this year, hoping it wouldn’t be necessary, neither how many other payments will come their way out of all of this, from the hospital, to the ambulance, to medical bills and everything else related to the upcoming law matters.

Breann’s family is already planning to sue the (I’m going to avoid any swearing here) irresponsible drunk driver that caused the accident and put her grandma in a hospital bed, but apparently, despite how the man has already been caught driving under the effects of alcohol before, and all the proof that we’re showing here, they aren’t sure if the money they could get out of this would be enough to pay all that could come, or even if they’ll win the trial against him.

What I’m asking here is for a little help for my best friend and especially a little help for her grandmother and her family. If at least 100 of you donated each as little as 2 dollars, it would already make a huge difference. I understand everybody is in a very tight economic situation right now, and I’m not trying to pull any guilt trips on you. Even a simple reblog of this post would already mean you helped.

Like it’s been mentioned, the quantity of money they’ll need isn’t yet established, so whatever you can donate right now would help. If we get an exact number, I’ll edit this post right ahead with further information and a clear objective. Once she’s sure everything is under control, I’ll simply close the post. :)

Note: This post is very drafty, cause she’s been absent these last days, taking care of the situation the best that she can, and she’s been able to provide me of very little details, due to distress and being busy, which I understand. I’ve only provived you with the most important points of the situation that I acknowledge. She asked me to create this post for her, since she doesn’t have the time or energy. One thing for sure, they need any help they can get.

And to be honest, I’d like to see this man learn his lesson and pay for the consequences before there’s a next time and innocent people actually die because of it.

Edit: I’ve been recently updated on grandma’s state, and she’s in a very poor condition, as well as freaking out every time she is awake and in general worrying all of them even more. Again, any help is welcomed. <3
